It has been awhile

It has been a while since I have posted. Not that a lot of people read this :p BUT I would like to say that my car is now working like it should :). Now all I am freaking out about is Christmas shopping. My work's christmas party is Sunday and I had ordered my presents for my manager and her family off the website called Etsy.com on Saturday, I still haven't gotten any of what I ordered and it is almost a week later! I'm not quite sure if they'll get here in time or not!

And next week are finals. Not too worried about those but I feel a weird restless feeling this whole week...gah! This semester just needs to end NOW!

Just Plain Ridiculous

Once again my car has failed to do it’s duty. This is just starting to get annoying. Scratch that. It was annoying about the fourth time. Not it is just ridiculous.

Final Destination…

…is NOT the best way to end a Monday night. Especially when the showing is at 9:25. And, I didn’t know you HAD to see it in 3D. I thought you could choose…I thought wrong. But also, I didn’t know it was rated R. I thought it was PG-13. It was sooo bloody/gory! OMG. And half of that sh*t flies at you through your 3D glasses. At one point, one of the main characters is in the swimming pool ABOUT TO DIE and a used band-aid comes flying out of nowhere! I seriously jumped and was like, “ew!”.

Other than that, my week was somewhat…boring. It is more than halfway over! Yay! And…I got at 10/10 on my Physics quiz! Yay me! But now I’m getting into the boring stuff. I really wish, in my Philosophy class, someone would have a freak out episode like Shia Labeouf had during Revenge of the Fallen. Haha. That would be interesting!

Coptic Stitch, Inspiration, and City of Bones Review

I have officially made my second Coptic Stitch journal for my manager’s mother-in-law for Grandparent’s Day (which is today, btw) and it came out really good. Except for the fact that it was white and I had to recover it about three times because it kept getting dirty :/ I wish I would had taken a picture so I could share it with the world…or whoever reads my blog :p BUT there are plenty more to come because I am hoping to sell my notebooks on etsy.com so keep an eye out for my link to my store :)

I also have started a new writing project because, unfortunately, I have lost a little bit of steam on my last project…just like all the other ones before it. The story is still swimming in my head but I don’t exactly have a plot per say in it. This new project is a few steps ahead of the other one and I am calling it Phoenix Rising at the moment. I might stick with it…I might not. I did change Shadows’, the last project, title about, four times :p But that is how it goes.

I also also have been meaning to put up a review on a book that I bought aloooooong time ago and finally finished about two months ago. It is called The City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. It is the first book in The Mortal Instruments trilogy to be followed by City of Ashes and City of Glass. I will be honest and say that I did restart this book twice. I will also be honest and say the only reason I picked it up was because Holly Black (Tithe, Valiant, Ironside, the Spiderwick Chronicles) had said it was one of her favorite books. I have read Black’s modern faerie tale stories and love her to bits! So, of course I would pick something up she said she loved :)

The book follows a girl named Clary as she ventures through a world where demons are real and are hunted by warriors known as Shadowhunters. The story is in third person and has every other supernatural being in the world, and then some I have never heard of before, within its pages. There are vampires and werewolves and other really creepy things that if I put here would totally spoil the story. For the most part it wasn’t easy to guess the next move unless Clare purposefully made it obvious. It is as much of a fantasy novel as a mystery because Clary’s mother disappears and her “uncle” doesn’t want anything to do with her after she finds her apartment ripped to shreds. There is one major plot twist…actually, it IS the plot twist…that was very well thought out even if it did make me rather angry.

I do have the second book but with college started only a few weeks ago, it has been hard for me just to find time to do THAT reading rather than some leisure reading…unfortunately :(

I am also waiting on the arrival of Tempted, the sixth book in the House of Night series! The cover art was unveiled a few months ago and I failed at posting :( Sorry! But, it looks fantastic! 43 Days!!! THAT one, I WILL make time for :p

2 Weeks Down…Not Sure How Many Left to Go…

The second week of college has officially ended.

Yay

But the first week of classes was GROSS. Just plain gross. Parking is a nightmare out there at UNO. They need to buy some of that Elmwood park and build a huge parking lot…or something… Second day of classes I was late ten minutes because of parking issues. I got fed up and just parked. When I got back to my car (which was in the middle of a neighborhood and I wasn’t completely sure how to get to campus from) I had a present. A $16 parking ticket. I guess you can’t park where I parked between 8am and 3pm on school days…

The rest of the week turned out fine. I got my yearbook, which I designed the cover of, and it is BEAUTIFUL! I got a parking pass for the Dorm Parking Garage which I thank God for EVERY SINGLE DAMN DAY! I love it! It makes my semester 687209487490 times better. I haven’t exactly gotten into the swing of reading so much. And my mom says, “Oh, but you read all those books on your bookshelf just fine.” Yeah, but, I WANT to read those…and they aren’t boring…like, learning about an argument for English Comp II…what kind of shit is that? BORING.

p.s. by car left me stranded at target…woo hoo…

River Riot

WOW…and I mean, WOW! I have NEVER seen so many people in my life! All the bands were amazing. Scored a $10 cd from Pomeroy and a free bumper sticker…heck yes! Haha.

What I loved the most was that we weren’t in the “retarded” parking lot. We were just in the “dumby” parking lot…according to Ana. But P!ATD was good, FOB was good too but BLINK 182 was soooo funny! The bicker like an old married couple! Haha.

Demi Lovato and David Archuleta

I had no idea David Archuleta sang Apologize. It was a pleasant surprise when I found that out! And, I didn’t think I would like him but I really liked his Zero Gravity song. Now I want his album :]

I will admit right now that I love Demi Lovato. I love her music and her lyrics and her albums are just so great that I was worried she wasn’t going to be good live. Well, she wasn’t just good…she was awesome! She was very energetic, couldn’t stop smiling, and kept saying thank you. She isn’t going to end up like Britney Spears or whatever other Starlet that fell. She is going to go far!

Ana and I didn’t even know where our tickets were, just that we were close to the ground. We figured we were in the middle a few rows back. NOPE. The stage looked like and E turned 90 degrees clockwise. We got there late because Ana had to cover a shift so we come walking in, all special. And, just to add to the special-ness feeling, someone showed us where our seats were and we were row 4. Two seats next to the outside turned E. We could touch the stage. :D It was amazing.

I was kinda bummed she didn’t sing Got Dynamite, but I think I’ll live :]
